Get Involved

At Granite Lake we want our church members to Get Involved, get planted, and GROW.

When Jesus was asked, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’" (Matthew 22:35-39).
If you want to be a follower of the Lord Jesus, Get Involved with His church.  Love, Serve and Reach others for Jesus.

Get Involved, get Planted, and GROW.

Loving, Serving, Reaching
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

Matthew 22:36

And He (Jesus) said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment.

Matthew 22:37, 38

The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 22:39, 40

Get Involved

Come to Church!

We want Granite Lake to be one of the primary means God uses to grow you to be more like Jesus. You will not grow consistently —as a Christian-- if you neglect going to church. Hebrews 10:25 says we are "not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together" . . . Billy Graham once said, "The Bible says, “Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it.” If our Lord loved it enough to die for it, then we should respect it enough to support and attend it."

Get Involved & Grow!

When you do decide to Get Involved, what should you do?
We must understand that we are meant to be active participants in our local church. So how can we get involved at Granite Lake?
First, make it a point—a priority—to be here when church is taking place. Here are some practical ways to Get Involved, and Grow!

Attend!

Attend always. The primary way to be involved at Granite Lake is to actually be here. You can’t be plugged in if you’re not consistently attending.

Serve joyfully!

Serve sacrificially. More than just attending, we should want to serve the church. And sometimes that means serving in ways that don’t come easy or natural to us. There may be areas that you can serve in that you love, but there may be times when God wants you to serve in ways that aren't easy for you. That is serving sacrificially.

Give from your heart!

Give generously. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says: "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." It is not the amount of money, time, or talents that matters when giving, but the state of your heart.

Just Do it!

Get involved. Don’t slide by your Christian life without the getting involved. You need the local church—and the local church need YOU. When you attend Granite Lake, make sure you’re not just sitting there, and then bolting for the door when service is over. Stay a few minutes for fellowship, meet some new people, encourage those you know, and choose to actively serve in some way. Be hospitable to others and help them whenever you can. Granite Lake is our family. There are plenty of places you can get involved and help here, but also - there are plenty of places to serve outside our church doors. Outside the doors of Granite Lake is our Mission Field. If there is something you can do to help -- do it. You will be blessed by going out of your way to help others or be kind.

Disciple!

Disciple diligently. Make it your mission to be discipled and to disciple someone else. It is one of the best things you can do for your spiritual growth.
Jesus told his disciples, " 'I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' " (Matthew 28:18-20) When Jesus gave this command to His disciples, He meant it.
And remember, YOU are one of His disciples.
