About Us

Granite Lake Church is a small, Bible Believing, God Loving, Jesus Following, Spirit Empowered church.  We seek to love God above all else and to love & serve others in our homes, our communities, and the world.

WHO WE ARE

At our church, we are a community united by faith, dedicated to spreading love, understanding, and healing. We believe in the transformative power of the Word of God, compassion and the enduring strength of our shared human spirit. Our doors are open to all who seek guidance, support, and a sense of belonging in their spiritual journey.

OUR VISION

Loving, Serving, Reaching
Love God and others
Serve God and others
Reach others with the Love and Life of God

OUR MISSION

17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:17-20)

ELDERS

-Men who love God-
The biblical qualifications of an elder come from Titus 1:6–9 and 1 Timothy 3:1–7. They describe a mature Christian with a good reputation, and gifts for teaching, oversight, and pastoral ministry.

KIDS MINISTRY

-This team loves Children-
Matthew 19:14, Mark 10:14, Luke 18:16 and Matthew 18:3 relate how important Children are to Jesus and His Kingdom. They are important to us too. WE want them to grow up knowing Jesus.

GROW

-Learn to know God-
Matthew 28:19 and Ephesians 4:11-16. Discipleship is the process of following and becoming more like Jesus and is the point of the Christian walk. We have a number of Discipleship ministries.

MUSIC MINISTRY

-Praise to the Lord of Lords-
Ephesians 5:18-19, Colossians 3:16, and 1 Corinthians 14:26.
We want our church’s worship to be consistent with the Scriptures, to point people past ourselves, past the musicians, and to the Lord Jesus and His Gospel.

DEACONS

-Men who serve the King-
Acts 6:1-6 and 1 Timothy 3:8-10. Deacon, from the Greek word "diakonos", means “helper” or "servant." Our Deacons are appointed members of our church who assist by serving other members and meeting material needs.

DEACON COUNCIL

-Women in service to the King of King's-
1 Timothy 3:11 & Titus 2:3-5.
"Doulos" comes from the Greek word "bondservant." Our Doulos men and  women help take care of the physical needs of our members, set up the Lord's supper, greet, encourage and mentor.

TECHNOLOGY

Proverbs 3:5-6 & Ephesians 5:15-16. We want the technology in our church to be used for spreading the good news of Jesus and for encouraging believers. We will trust in the Lord and seek His guidance in all aspects of life.

YOUTH MINISTRY

-This team loves Youth-
1 Timothy 4:12, 2 Timothy 2:22 & Proverbs 23:26. We encourage the youth to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, and to be godly examples in speech, conduct, and faith with a pure heart.

MEAL MINISTRY

You can show care for others during challenging times: the loss of a loved one, the birth of a child, a sickness or surgery, the loss of a job or home, or any other reason that someone needs your love.

Our Beliefs

We believe there is only one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14); that God is our all-powerful Creator (Ge. 1:1; Jer. 32:17); that ours is the sovereign God and His authority is absolute (Dan. 4:34-35; Isa. 46:9-10); that our God is holy and just (Ps. 99:9; Deut. 32:4); that our God is love (I John 4:8; Rom. 8:35-39); and that our God is merciful (Ps. 145:8; Luke 6:36).

We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16); that Jesus was born to a virgin. He lived a sinless life and taught us what humanity should look like (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:22-23; Heb 4:14-15); Jesus offered himself on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people (1 Cor. 15:3; Rom. 4:25); that Jesus died, was buried and rose from the dead three days later – conquering sin and death (1 Cor. 15:4); and that Jesus ascended in to heaven. Jesus will return again to bring a new heaven and a new earth (Rev. 21:1).

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the one and only way into relationship with God and eternal life in His presence (John 3:16; John 5:24; John 14:6; Titus 3:3-7); and that baptism is the public demonstration of our faith Jesus and our commitment to follow Him (Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:4)

We believe that rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior leads to eternal separation from God, described biblically as “hell” (Matt. 25:31-46; 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

We believe that the Holy Spirit of God dwells within all people who have placed their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit is our advocate, helper, guide and friend if we are followers of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is living inside believers and continually produces spiritual fruit and develops spiritual gifts that will glorify Jesus, who sends Him (John 14:15-26; John 16:5-16; Eph. 1:13-14).

We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word; that the Bible is true and describes God's redemptive work throughout human history - continuing to deal with human sin through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, culminating in the creation of a new Heaven and Earth; and that the Bible gives us practical guidance for living God-honoring lives (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Heb. 4:12; Rev. 21:1).

We believe that God created all human beings in His image; that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of all people; and that Christians should follow Christ’s example of treating every person with love, dignity and respect (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10).

We believe those who follow Jesus are commanded to grow as disciples - people who are consistently following Jesus, being changed by Jesus (sanctification) and on mission with Jesus to make disciples (Matthew 4:19; Mark 1:17; Matthew 28:18-20).

We believe that growing disciples of Jesus are called to be holy as God is holy. This does not mean that we are perfect already or that we can earn our salvation or that we will ever be perfectly sin-free, but it does mean that we are being sanctified – we are being changed & becoming more like Jesus. As disciples of Jesus, we want to make Him Lord over every area of our lives, and we are being transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit and the truth of  the Word of God, the Bible. This is a life-long process for every Christian.  We continue to be sanctified and transformed as we grow closer to Jesus.  (Rom. 6:6; I Cor. 1:2; 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20; Col. 3:1-5; I Thess. 5:23; 2 Thess. 2:13).

We believe in the spiritual unity of people who believe in Jesus Christ; that all believers - from every race, culture and background - are members of His body, the Church; and that as members of this Body we are called to use our unique gifts to serve God and others (Phil. 2:1-4; I Cor. 12:12-31).

When we gather to have communion, we have a small piece of bread and a drink of juice or wine. Communion is not a party, although it is a celebration.  It is not about the bread and the juice or wine; it’s about the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We are to remember Jesus is the one who provides all we need (John 6:35, 48-51). God warns us about taking communion without considering what it means and why we’re doing it. Taking communion isn't a ritual, and it doesn’t make you a Christian. It doesn’t get you in to heaven or save your soul.  Communion is a time set aside for us to remember what Jesus has done for us and why He did it (1 Corinthians 11:27-31).
