Get to Know our Elders

Don Davis

I was born and raised on a ranch 16 miles northeast of Grangeville, Idaho. As a youngster I attended Church at Clearwater Baptist church in Clearwater, Idaho. I moved to Lewiston after graduating High School in 1968. In 1969 I met Lana, the love of my life and we were married in July of 1970. After living in Lewiston 4 years, we moved to Lana’s family farm to help with the farming duties and there we raised our family. While on the farm we attended Winchester Community Church, where I served several years as an Elder and stepped in to deliver a Sunday message when needed. I have always enjoyed working with kids and started a 5th and 6th grade basketball program soon after moving to the farm. In the spring months I would put together a AAU track and field program for kids of all ages and we competed in meets all around the northwest . I ended up at Highland High School in Craigmont and spent 20 years coaching High School basketball and track and field. I retired from farming and a 10 year term as a Lewis County Commissioner in 2017 and Lana and I moved to Lewiston to enjoy a little warmer climate. While searching for a place to worship we found Granite Lake Community Church, and have been blessed beyond measure here. I have enjoyed serving as an Elder here and have grown immensely in my walk with the Lord. Jesus Christ has been a huge influence in our lives as we just celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. While scripture provides so many beautiful verses, my go to one is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Mike Graham

Mike is married to Kim. Mike works for Living Waters and has 3 beautiful children. Mike gave his life to the Lord many years ago and has since served in our church doing announcements on Sunday, leading in the Men's Ministry, and teaching and holding Life Groups with Kim at their home and at the church for many years. His wife Kim plays the piano and sings on our Worship Team.  Mikes leadership and encouraging personality has allowed him to be part of nearly every aspect of our church ministry and growth.  He and Kim have been instrumental in a number of church building projects and serving our church family.  Together, with their servant-hearts Mike and Kim have generated a number of church building beautification projects, ministry opportunities and events, leadership skills in the transition to join Open Bible, and so much more.  Kim is a leader in our worship team and she has led with such passion!! Their leadership and spiritual insight has been a foundation to our church family!

Bill Hayne

Bill has been the Pastor of Granite Lake since 2009. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for over 40 years and have 4 adult children, 2 sons-in-law, and 5 grandchildren. He started as an Assistant Pastor at Warner Alliance Church where he and Jennifer jumped into ministry with Rod and Sherry Benner. Bill was Interim Pastor at Warner Alliance for a couple years when Rod and Sherry moved on to other opportunities, and then, in 2000, they brought in a new Lead Pastor. A few years later Bill was asked to be the Interim pastor for Orofino Community Church in 2006, and served there until a new Pastor was brought in 2008. Soon after that, Granite Lake Community Church was looking for someone to replace Buzz McKarcher, who was retiring. Bill joined Granite Lake Community Church as the Part-time, Interim Pastor in 2009. He became Pastor of Granite Lake Church of the Open Bible in 2022. Bill and Jennifer moved to Lewiston in 1994 to become full-time educators - Jennifer was an Art and Gifted/Talented Coordinator for Genesee and Lewiston School Districts for many years and Bill was a professor of education for Lewis-Clark State College, retiring in 2022 after 28 years. Bill is a member of the Assiniboine/Sioux Indian Nations of Fort Peck, Montana and grew up on the Nez Perce and Shoshone/Bannock Reservations.  "We have been so very blessed to move back to Lewiston 30+ years ago, to teach and work with our young people and fellow educators, to serve our Savior here in the valley in many ways and particularly over the past 16 years being part of the Granite Lake Church family."

Luis Jimenez

Luis and his son, Kaden have served the Lord for many years. He can be found working in the Technology Room or part of the worship team playing the bass and box drum. His technical and musical skills have been so very  important for our church.  Over the past number of years Luis has been an integral partner in the youth group and Bible study ministry areas - his love for the Word of God has been a tremendous encouragement to many members of our church family.  One of Luis' great strengths is prayer - he is a prayer warrior and carries such a passion for prayer!!! As he has walked out his faith with a strong bond to the Word of God, his son has followed dad's example with a similar hunger for the scriptures.  Kaden has spoken from the pulpit a number of times and loves serving our church family.
