Don Davis
I was born and raised on a ranch 16 miles northeast of Grangeville, Idaho. As a youngster I attended Church at Clearwater Baptist church in Clearwater, Idaho. I moved to Lewiston after graduating High School in 1968. In 1969 I met Lana, the love of my life and we were married in July of 1970. After living in Lewiston 4 years, we moved to Lana’s family farm to help with the farming duties and there we raised our family. While on the farm we attended Winchester Community Church, where I served several years as an Elder and stepped in to deliver a Sunday message when needed. I have always enjoyed working with kids and started a 5th and 6th grade basketball program soon after moving to the farm. In the spring months I would put together a AAU track and field program for kids of all ages and we competed in meets all around the northwest . I ended up at Highland High School in Craigmont and spent 20 years coaching High School basketball and track and field. I retired from farming and a 10 year term as a Lewis County Commissioner in 2017 and Lana and I moved to Lewiston to enjoy a little warmer climate. While searching for a place to worship we found Granite Lake Community Church, and have been blessed beyond measure here. I have enjoyed serving as an Elder here and have grown immensely in my walk with the Lord. Jesus Christ has been a huge influence in our lives as we just celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. While scripture provides so many beautiful verses, my go to one is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
